Once you have discovered your novel biomarker candidate, you need to validate it using in vitro and in vivo model systems before moving to the clinic. Investigators concerned with the spatial features of a biomarker candidate in a solid tumor typically use antibodies to immunolabel proteins or oligos to identify RNA via in situ hybridization. From a clinical perspective, the ideal biomarker candidate should be obtained via minimally invasive methods such as body fluid collection or liquid biopsies. Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISAs) are another commonly used to measure changes in protein secretion into body fluids. ELISAs are ideal for assessing analyte expression in body fluids or liquid biopsies. Bio-Techne’s brands have over 30 years of expertise in ELISA development. You will need tools that you can count on to reliably measure target analytes. Download our ELISA guide below, if you are unsure which type of ELISA is best for your needs.

Milo™ Single-Cell Westerns

Cellular heterogeneity is a great confound. Extrapolating biological responses from large populations of cells can be a source of error. Use Milo to assess protein changes at the single cell level.
